Enchanted

Dragons, magic mirrors, glass slippers and poison apples are just a few fairy tale items you will see in the modern day Disney film Enchanted.  In a cartoon world Susan Sarandon plays a wicked queen who banishes a beautiful princes played by Amy Adams to ” a land where there is no happily ever after” because her prince son fall for her.  The princess arrives in Time Square as a real person and takes refuge in an apartment with a divorced lawyer played by Patrick Dempsey and his daughter.  Amy Adams is absolutely perfect for this role. She plays the innocent naive part without going over the top.  I wish Dempsey and some of the other actors were as good.  The script is creative, funny and it even has a couple musical numbers.  When she sings the rats, pigeons and roaches help her decorate her house.  (When I sing my dogs run the other way and I have to clean up the house after them.)  This is a charming family film and I left the theater with a smile on my face so I’m giving it a B+ rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
